Justice has prevailed.
Our client, ZNBC journalist MacPherson Chewe Mukuka has today been released on bail by the Lusaka High Court after 14 days of unlawful and unconstitutional detention.
The Court has also condemned the State in costs, reaffirming that the unlawful deprivation of liberty has legal consequences.
Thank you Counsel Isaac Simbeye, for the good fight we put up together. It was an honour to stand with you in defending the Constitution and the fundamental rights of our client.
Today is a reminder that no one should be deprived of their liberty except in accordance with the law. The rule of law has prevailed.
