JK IS NOT MY GIRLFRIEND-DR MUMBA

BanaBaabo-Dr Nervous Mumba writes ✍🏾

A few days ago, JJ Banda went live on Facebook from what he described as his “brand-new studio,” which he claimed had been provided by the Tonse Alliance leadership. During that broadcast, he attempted to present what he called the story of my life

There was nothing new in what he said. It was a familiar mixture of recycled rumours, and outright falsehoods that have circulated for years among those determined to attack my integrity, my Christian ministry, and my participation in public service.

What was new, however, was the extraordinary level to which these falsehoods had escalated.

JJ Banda alleged that Her Honour the Vice President, Mrs. W.K. Mutale Nalumango, was sent by President Hakainde Hichilema to Mwalule Graveyard in Chinsali to participate in occult rituals. He further claimed that I persuaded her to do so and later promised to pray for her deliverance from the very demons she had supposedly acquired.

He then extended this fiction by claiming that, as a reward for my alleged role, I was “given” a girlfriend by the President, a claim that is particularly bizarre because the person he named, Jordan Katembula, popularly known as JK, is a renowned male musician. In the same breath, he made similarly outrageous insinuations that President Hakainde Hichilema had taken a girlfriend who is a renowned male hairdresser.

These claims are not only false, but they reveal the extreme lengths to which some people will go in their attempt to manufacture scandal, damage reputations, and create suspicion where there is no evidence

These are the same individuals who have repeatedly attempted to associate those who do not share their political persuasion with some of the most serious and disgraceful allegations imaginable, always without presenting credible evidence.

These allegations are entirely false. More significantly, they are internally contradictory.

How does one persuade another person to enter spiritual darkness while simultaneously becoming the one appointed to pray for their deliverance? Such a claim is neither sound theology nor sound reasoning. It betrays a poor understanding of both the Christian faith and the nature of Christian ministry.

But this is about more than defending my own name.

We are witnessing an increasingly dangerous attempt to redefine Zambian politics through the language of superstition and conspiracy. Instead of debating policies, governance, and leadership, some now seek to explain every political development through charms, graveyards, rituals, and imagined occult networks.

Every thoughtful Zambian should ask a few simple questions.

Who is promoting the claim that the remains of former President Edgar Chagwa Lungu possess supernatural political power?

Who is spreading stories that political leaders consume human flesh or placentas as part of occult practices?

Who is telling the nation that the graves of departed Bemba chiefs somehow sustain governments?

Who is accusing the Vice President of performing rituals at Mwalule Graveyard without producing a single piece of credible evidence?

These are not harmless stories. They are calculated conspiracy theories designed to replace evidence with fear, reason with superstition, and national dialogue with suspicion.

A democracy cannot mature when every political disagreement is explained by witchcraft and every public institution is viewed through the lens of the occult. Our people deserve politics built on facts, evidence, ideas, and accountability, not mythology.

Having served the Church long before entering public office, I do not consider every rumour worthy of a response. But when falsehoods threaten to poison public discourse and mislead our nation, silence becomes irresponsible.

I therefore reject these allegations completely. They are false, irrational, unsupported by evidence, and unworthy of serious public debate.

Finally, allow me to say this.

Many people have dismissed JJ Banda as a mentally unstable young man. I do not share that view. JJ Banda is not mad.

He is speaking exactly as he has been encouraged, prepared, and empowered to speak. His words are neither random nor accidental. They serve a purpose.

In my next statement, I will explain why I say this. I will expose the forces behind these carefully constructed narratives and help the Zambian people understand the real power behind JJ Banda’s accusations.

The truth, as always, has a way of revealing itself.
