With the introduction of the Health Professions Act, the Council has been given the mandate to register and regulate all Health Facilities in Zambia, both public and private and Training Institutions teaching health sciences.
To this effect, all health practitioners are expected to write and pass Licensure Examinations.
The list of successful candidates for the November 2023 Professional Licensure Examinations has been published.
Insiders say Kanyika’s wife was failed intentionally for her husband’s alleged public criticism of the Registrar Prof.Fastone Goma.
Jerome who is said to be a close associate to the current Minister of Health, Silvia Masebo and an avid defender of President Hakainde Hichilema has run public battles with various health regulatory bodies holding them to account over delivery of quality health and medicines.
Kanyika, who is also a member of the UPND health committee, has allegedly been punished for his works by failing wife.
Details of Kanyika’s wife’s index number of MBCHB/HPCZ/101/CBU/2023/119487 show that she was failed deliberately.
The examiners who communicated the news said that they were on strict instructions from their bosses or seniors to make sure that Kanyika’s wife fails theory as practicals was marked at the time of exams.
“I hope Jerome learns to keep quiet. He should stop criticising institutions.” said an inside source.
The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is a statutory regulatory body established under the Health Professions Act No. 24 of 2009 of the Laws of Zambia.
