‘It was a good performance;’ Grant hails team after Cameroon draw

CHIPOLOPOLO coach Avram Grant will not read too much into the 1-all draw against Cameroon yesterday as the team continues to prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations set for Ivory Coast this week.

Zambia gave up a 1-0 lead to draw 1 – all against Cameroon in an international friendly, but the coach was left impressed with the performance more than anything.

“I was happy for the boys,” Grant said in an interview, “They were fighting and we could have won because we made some good attacks but the result is less important, what is important is the performance because you could see that the boys gave everything,”

He said Zambia has a “bunch of good players”

“We have a good bunch of players that want to give everything for themselves and the country and I am happy for that,” he said.

Zambia will play its first group game against the Democratic Republic of Congo on January 17.
