COUNCILLOR SIMATAA FIRES NON-PERFORMING WASTE COLLECTION COMPANIES IN KAMWALA
“They’re Undermining The Fight Against Cholera”
Kamwala Ward Councillor Hon. Mainda Simataa has terminated the services of failing waste collection companies in his ward with immediate effect.
This follows widespread complaints and concerns from members of the community who are stuck with rotting and stinking waste for over one month despite paying and subscribing to the waste companies.
The civic leader yesterday conducted a physical inspection of waste companies operating in his ward and findings indicate that out of 4 companies, Joyan Enterprises and Zoomlion have totally failed to deliver.
Councillor Simataa has since written to the CEO of Lusaka Integrated Solid Waste Management Company to inform the contractors of his decision, adding that non-performing companies are undermining the fight against cholera.
