RTSA REDUCES BUS FARES

THE Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) has approved the downward adjustment of bus fares.

RTSA Acting Head- Public Relations Mukela Mangolwa says the adjustment in bus fares comes in the wake of the decrease in the fuel pump prices announced by the Energy Regulation Board (ERB).

According to the chart released by RTSA, Intercity Long-distance fares have been reduced by 3.5% with Copperbelt local and other towns’ bus fares going down by K1.

Lusaka Local and other towns fares will cost K1 less, while Inter-Mine-Copperbelt bus fares have been reduced by K2.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Peri-Urban bus fares have gone down by K2.

The changes in bus fares are effective 13th of April, 2023, and are pursuant to the Road Traffic Act No. 11 of 2022 as amended by Act No.8 of 2022.
