Reporter,
Zambian immigration authorities at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) have reportedly stopped controversial social media commentator Francis Kampwewa, popularly known as “Why Me,” from travelling to Canada, where he was scheduled to visit fellow critic Charles Kakula.
Sources at the airport told Zambia Barotseland Border Post that Kampwewa was intercepted by officers from the Department of Immigration, working alongside personnel from Force Headquarters, who are now questioning him over the circumstances surrounding his intended trip.
The source claimed the intended visit to Kakula may be linked to the decision to stop the journey, alleging that Kakula is wanted by Zambian authorities.
Kampwewa, known for his blunt and often controversial online commentary, has been a fierce critic of government. Kakula, who is based in Canada, is also known for his hard-hitting criticism of the Zambian government from the diaspora.
