Hope Affirmation Network Zambia commiserates with the Ngoni People on the passing of Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV
Lsk. Sat, May 31, 2026
Hope Affirmation Network Zambia joins the nation in mourning the passing of His Royal Highness Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV of the Ngoni people of Eastern Province.
We received the news with deep sorrow. The Paramount Chief Mpezeni was a father to many, a defender of justice and culture, and a pillar of unity in Zambia. His wisdom, courage, and commitment to the wellbeing of his people has left an indelible mark on our nation’s history.
We especially remember him as a bold voice for change. He was a fearless advocate against child marriage, speaking out to protect the girl child and her right to education and dignity.
Chief Mpezeni was also a strong advocate for women empowerment. He encouraged women to own land and take their rightful place as builders of homes, communities, and the economy. His leadership proved that tradition and progress can walk together.
As an organization committed to affirming hope and building communities, HANZ is grateful for his lifelong example of servant leadership and his dedication to justice, equality, and the values that bind Zambians together
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Ngoni Royal Establishment, the Royal Family, the people of Eastern Province, and all Zambians during this difficult time. May God grant us all the strength, peace, and comfort.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy of unity, dignity, and empowerment continue to inspire generations to come.
Signed,
