HE WAS THOUGHT TO HAVE SWALLOWED K2… BUT DOCTORS FOUND K7.50! 💰

A 10-month-old baby boy was rushed to Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital (LMUTH) after he was believed to have swallowed a K2 coin. An X-ray appeared to show only one coin, and the Endoscopy Unit prepared for what was expected to be a routine retrieval.
However, during the delicate procedure, the team made a surprising discovery. What appeared to be a single coin on the X-ray was actually four coins tightly embedded together two K1 coins, one 50 ngwee coin, and one K5 coin bringing the total value to K7.50.
After nearly 20 minutes of careful endoscopic retrieval, the team successfully removed all four coins, saving the infant’s life and preventing what could have become a life-threatening emergency.
Congratulations to the LMUTH Endoscopy Unit for the successful life-saving intervention.
