Ndola Central; Frank Tayali’s Thugs Attack Emmanuel Mulenga’s Camp
UPND CADRES AND GROWING POLITICAL VIOLENCE:
Tuesday 30th June, 2026
Rom 16:17 “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them”
We have receive confirmed reports of UPND cadres attacks aimed at the command centre for Hon Emmanuel Mulenga situated in Northrise Ndola with extreme concern. We expect all aspiring candidates to tame their cadres and practice issue based politics devoid of violence.
Recently, political cadres under UPND Chifubu constituency attacked Chifubu independent candidate William Mwale and in the process beat up Pamodzi independent councillor Chilufya Kunda and other persons, a matter which is actively before Chifubu Police station.
We call upon Ndola residents to help promote peaceful campaigns, frown upon every appearance of political lawlessness, marking out those involved in political violence such as Hon Frank Tayali’s cadres who are becoming unruly and don’t vote for them. We commend Hon Emmanuel Mulenga for not retaliating but instead calling upon the Police to contain the situation.
We strongly urge all candidates in Ndola contesting in the August 13th general election to observe the law, maintain peace and “tame” their cadres. Political disorder and hooliganism has no place in a civilised and democratic space like ours. We therefore condemn the behaviour of cadres under the watch of Hon Frank Tayali.
Further, we call upon all aspiring candidates to strictly adhere to the schedule by the ECZ for this campaign period, campaign peacefully and be issue based. The Church will not sit and watch this growing spirit of political violence and intimidation by the UPND cadres; potentially threatening peace and security.
