“EXEMPT US FROM LOAD-SHEDDING,” STUDENTS ASK GOVT

A number of Zambian students attending various universities have requested that the government take into account exempting them from the current load-shedding.

Power outages lasting more than eight hours have hit Zambia, severely disrupting people’s daily lives and negatively impacting businesses and public services.

National Council Of Student Union (NACOSU) Chairperson Michelo Chizombe claims that the power outages have impacted students’ academic work during a press conference held in Lusaka.

Furthermore, in light of the current economic conditions, UNZA Ridgeway Campus Union President Rodgers Tembo has urged the government to take into account raising meal allowances.
