Cristiano Ronaldo and Aymeric Laporte both receive red cards in Asia Cup loss to Al Ain

Al-Nassr suffered a 1-0 defeat against Al-Ain in the Asian Champions League quarter-final first leg.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s team aimed to maintain their unbeaten streak in the competition, but a lacklustre performance and a display of brilliance from Soufiane Rahimi led to their downfall.

Rahimi showcased composure as he bypassed David Ospina and scored despite being off balance.

Throughout the second half, Al-Ain controlled the game, with Ronaldo’s only chance being thwarted by a remarkable save from the opposing keeper.

Aymeric Laporte’s late red card further hindered Al-Nassr’s chances.

Rahimi played a significant role for Al-Ain, contributing to both attacks that resulted in goals.

Despite having a goal disallowed for offside, he eventually found the net with a stunning run past Laporte and Ospina.

Al-Nassr’s star players, including Ronaldo and Sadio Mane, failed to shine, with Ronaldo missing several opportunities.

Laporte’s dismissal sealed Al-Nassr’s fate, as fatigue started to affect Al-Ain towards the end of the match.
