Court fines Mufulira blue movie actress K4,000
A 21-year old Grade 11 pupil of Mufulira who appeared in several home-made blue movies has up to the end of today to pay K4,000 or spend six months behind bars.

Appearing before the Mufulira Magistrate Court yesterday, Mercy Mwakesa a resident of Ndeke in Mufulira District on the Copperbelt Province pleaded guilty to producing and distributing pornographic material on social media between May 1 and May 14, 2024.
According to a report by Mufken FM, Mercy appealed for leniency, stating that she had learned significantly from the court proceedings and did not fully understand that her actions were illegal in Zambia.
Mufken reported that Considering Mercy’s age, status as a Grade 11 student, and her expression of remorse, Magistrate Chabu fined K4,000 and ordered that the money be paid by September 13 or she would spend six months behind bars.
Mercy has been behind bars from the day of her on arrest on May 22, having failed to meet bond and bail conditions.
