Copper Queens striker Norin Betani has died less than a week after being hospitalized while with the national team in camp.

Norin, an Indeni Roses player, was one of the 30 players summoned for the Paris 2024 qualifier against Ghana.

Preliminary reports indicate that the late Norin contracted malaria +++ in camp and was hospitalized at Chawama Level One Hospital in Lusaka where her condition deteriorated to an extent that she became unconscious.

There has been no information from FAZ to the public about Norin’s ailment and subsequent hospitalization.

Those close to the development indicate that the deceased’s family was only informed a few days after her hospitalization.

The Copper Queens left for Ghana yesterday.

FAZ is expected to issue a statement in a few hours confirming the demise of a new call up.
