CLATOUS CHAMA REFLECTS ON ZAMBIA’S AFCON JOURNEY

CLATOUS CHAMA REFLECTS ON ZAMBIA’S AFCON JOURNEY.

Chipolopolo’s attacking midfielder Clatous Chota Chama says it is unfortunate that Zambia’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) journey came to an end yesterday after being eliminated from the tournament in the group stage.

Chama, who is popularly known as Mwamba Wa Lusaka or Triple C shared his sorrow in a heartfelt post saying, “Yesterday our beautiful AFCON story was cut short. It is so sad as is but we have learned valuable lessons as a nation.”

He however encouraged the team and nation to not be discouraged by this outcome, but rather draw valuable lessons from the experience.

“Let’s prepare for the next ones because the journey has just started,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chama has wished all the teams that made it to the round of 16 luck as they push to contest for the trophy. He has also expressed gratitude to his fans for the love and support they have shown him throughout the journey.

Zambia, exited the contest after losing 1-0 to Morocco last night when they failed to make a comeback after Hakim Ziyech’s 37th minute goal. The Chipolopolo just needed a minimum of a point or more in order to qualify to the AFCON round of 16.
