BAN POLITICAL REGALIA DURING NATIONAL EVENTS – CLERGYMAN

A Clergyman in Choma has called for banning of wearing of political party regalia during commemoration of national events such as International Women’s day.

Brethren In Christ Church Kamunza Branch Pastor Emmanuel Kalulu says national events should not be used for political adverts and showcasing which party has more support.

Kalulu has told Byta FM Zambia News that political regalia maybe a turnoff for certain sections of the society which could result in them shunning away from participating.

The Clergyman said the high turnout for individuals in political regalia during the celebration of women’s day on Friday is a source of worry as it amounts to politicizing the day.

However, Governance and political Commentator Wesley Miyanda says there is nothing wrong with cladding in party regalia during national events.

Miyanda said in a phone interview that only indulgence in violence during such events is wrong.
