AMERICAN CHRISTIAN FREES FAMILY FROM 140 YEARS OF BONDED SLAVERY IN PAKISTAN BRICK KILN

Aaron Hutchings traveled to Pakistan and paid around $4000 to free a family trapped in generational bonded labor for more than 140 years.

The family had been held in Pakistan’s brick kiln industry since an ancestor took a loan in the 1880s. Despite bonded labor being outlawed in 1992, weak enforcement and corruption have allowed the practice to continue through advance payments, high interest, fines, and coercion passed down to children and grandchildren.

Hutchings hugged the elderly woman from the family at the kiln site, with the moment captured as she reacted emotionally.

The family raised bricks overhead in celebration, declaring “In Jesus name!”

Text in the video described it as “Freeing another SLAVE family of Legalize, Modern-day SLAVERY!” and “Breaking Generational debt.”

Hutchings, working with Project Jubilee and Intentional Faith Foundation, provided the payment that released them from the kiln owners. Estimates suggest hundreds of thousands remain trapped in similar conditions across Pakistan’s 20,000+ brick kilns.
