A JOURNALIST WHO OWNS NOTHING REJECTS A JOB OFFER FROM THE BBC TO IMPRESS HIS BOSS, WHO OWNS EVERYTHING.

Diamond TV employee Jonahs’ decision to turn down the job offer at BBC exemplifies believing in the false promise that things will get better, and the notion that the company he works for might become his own. However, if the company’s owner decides to terminate his contract, Jonah will find himself jobless.

Therefore, he should refrain from getting excited and posting his rejection of the BBC job on social media because BBC, Al Jazeera, and CNN are all watching.

None of these major media stations are likely to offer him a job going forward, fearing that he may reject it and later publicize his decision.

It seems even Mr. Costa finds amusement in Jonahs’ actions.

Perhaps Jonah wanted to impress Costa, but to what end? If Costa had stayed at Muvi TV just to impress Mr. Stephen Nyerenda, he would not have progressed this far in life.

In such organizations, one should not hesitate to pursue opportunities for advancement and higher pay when they arise.

It’s possible that Diamond TV will never become Jonahs’ TV station, and as time passes, his opportunities dwindle. By rejecting the offer, Jonah has closed doors for himself and is now seen as a local champion.

According to work ethics, job offers should not be published publicly; it’s meant to be confidential. However, Jonah seemed driven by the desire to be a hero and demonstrate integrity, but to whom and for what purpose?
