A CHOLERA SURVIVOR ADVISES MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO STAY AWAY FROM CHIBUKU
A cholera survivor Namebo Mukwima has advised members of the public to avoid drinking opaque beer popularly known as chibuku after being diagnosed with Cholera after consuming the same beer.
Speaking after being discharged from the National Heroes Stadium treatment center, Mr. Mukwima narrated to KBN TV news how he contracted the disease after consuming the said beverage.
In most instances, several people take turns drinking from the same container of the opaque beer in extreme unsanitary conditions thereby causing high risks of spreading the disease.
Mr. Mukwima says upon consuming the beer, he developed symptoms of cholera such as diarrhea and vomiting and he was rushed to a health facility where he was confirmed to have cholera and was admitted.
He further says that he was later on referred to the National Heroes Stadium main treatment center where he was treated from until he was cured.
Mr. Mukwima has since urged members of the public to always visit the health facility whenever they develop cholera symptoms stating that the National Heroes stadium treatment center is equipped with enough equipment to treat cholera.
He has since thanked the health personnel at the facility for helping him to recover from the disease.
