PRESS STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MUNDUBILE HEADED FOR VICTORY!
The preliminary results reaching the NRPUP National Elections Centre from across the country are pointing to a decisive and potentially landslide victory for our Presidential Candidate, Hon. Brian Mundubile.
Our Party Vote Tabulation (PVT), based on results being received from polling stations and constituency structures, is currently projecting Brian Mundubile at approximately 62% of the presidential vote
While we await the official announcement of results by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), the emerging picture is clear: the Zambian people have spoken, and their decision must be respected.
Our Party has won most of the seats on the Copperbelt, Lusaka, Northern, Muchinga, Luapula and is leading in the Eastern and Central Provinces.
We therefore call upon the European Union, the African Union, SADC, the Commonwealth and all other international and domestic election observers to take a keen and independent interest in the tabulation and transmission of results.
We are particularly concerned by reports reaching us regarding alleged attempts by elements within the security establishment and other actors to interfere with or alter the electoral outcome. These reports include allegations of an operation involving senior security officials and a foreign operative.
We stress that these are serious reports which require urgent independent scrutiny and verification. Any attempt by any individual or institution to manipulate the will of Zambian voters would constitute a grave assault on democracy and the constitutional order.
We are, however, encouraged by information that a number of officers within the military and other security wings have refused to participate in any unlawful or unconstitutional activities.
We commend their commitment to the Constitution and remind all members of the security services that their loyalty must ultimately be to the Republic of Zambia, the Constitution and the Zambian people—not to any political individual or party.
We call on the ECZ to ensure that every vote cast by the Zambian people is accurately counted, transparently tabulated and faithfully reflected in the final results.
No manipulation.
No alteration.
No suppression.
The people have voted.
Let the people’s will prevail.
Brian Mundubile is on course for a landslide victory.
