TRUMP IS FURIOUS WITH HIS DEFENCE SECRETARY FOR LOSING HIS WAR
The Washington Post reports that President Trump is very unhappy with his Defence Secretary for not delivering a quick victory over Iran.
The argument happened at Camp David. Trump confronted Hegseth, asking why he was misled about the ammunition shortage . Trump believed the issue had been resolved. Hegseth blamed his deputy for failing to keep Trump informed .
The ammunition shortage, especially of long-range guided missiles and air defence interceptors, is part of the reason Trump cancelled a new round of strikes against Iran .
The cost of the war has risen to $37.5 billion. The Pentagon is seeking more funding . A recent poll found 68% of Americans believe the war is not worth fighting. The war has become a political liability for Trump .
The US is running out of options. The military is running out of missiles. Trump is running out of patience.
Trump wants a victory. He wants a deal. He wants out. But Iran is not cooperating. And his defence secretary is taking the blame.
