STRIP ZUMA OF STATE PERKS! NDLOZI DEMANDS PRESIDENTIAL PRIVILEGES BE AXED
Former politician Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has launched a blistering attack on former President Jacob Zuma, arguing that it is not only justified but a matter of national security for Zuma to be stripped of all presidential privileges guaranteed under South Africa’s Constitution.
Ndlozi claimed Zuma has consistently shown contempt for the Constitution signed into law by Nelson Mandela in 1996, accusing him of repeatedly violating, undermining and ridiculing the country’s supreme law throughout his time in government.
According to Ndlozi, the benefits and protections afforded to former presidents are intended for leaders who uphold their constitutional oath, not those who disregard it.
He argued that Zuma forfeited any moral claim to such privileges long ago and insisted that withdrawing them would be in the interests of protecting the country’s constitutional order and national security.
His remarks are likely to reignite fierce political debate over Zuma’s legacy and the privileges enjoyed by former heads of state.
