MUNDUBILE’S PEOPLE-CENTERED VISION FOR DEVELOPMENT

In an interview on BM8 Unfiltered with Buchi, presidential candidate Brian Mundubile of the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) outlined a distinctive approach to national development.

He said that his party’s manifesto sets itself apart from that of the United Party for National Development (UPND) by placing marginalized groups—particularly women and youth—at the heart of Zambia’s development.

Mundubile was clear in criticizing other political manifestos, which he argued are widening the gap between rich and poor rather than bridge it.

He highlighted that many current manifesto serve foreign interests more than those of local communities, leaving vulnerable populations neglected.

In contrast, Mundubile said that the NRPUP manifesto champions inclusive development strategies designed to empower those often excluded from economic and social opportunities.

Central to Mundubile’s political philosophy is the belief that sustainable national growth must be built on equal participation.

By specifically targeting women and youth—groups historically sidelined—the NRPUP seeks to foster empowerment through education, job creation, and policies that promote social equity.

Additionally, Mundubile said that his manifesto challenges the prevailing economic policies that primarily benefit elites, arguing instead for a redistribution of resources and opportunities that reaches the grassroots level.

This people-centered ethos reflects a commitment to tackling systemic inequalities and building a country where all citizens can thrive – prioritizing social justice and economic fairness.
