Barrick to Sell Lumwana?
Barrick Mining, one of the world’s leading gold miners, is weighing a possible London listing for its African business, with a potential all-share transaction with UK-listed Endeavour Mining seen as one option under consideration, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.
Barrick Gold Corporation’s operations and subsidiaries in Africa primarily focus on gold and copper.
The company’s major active mining entities and complexes across the continent include the following:
●Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)Kibali Gold Mine: Located in the northeast, it is a massive joint venture between Barrick (45%), AngloGold Ashanti (45%), and the state-owned SOKIMO (10%). It is managed by Barrick.
●MaliLoulo-Gounkoto Complex: Comprises the Loulo and Gounkoto gold mines in western Mali. It is owned 80% by Barrick and 20% by the State of Mali.
