ECZ CONFIRMS 35 MILLION BALLOT PAPERS PRINTED AS DISPATCH TO ZAMBIA BEGINS

The Electoral Commission Of Zambia (ECZ) Has Confirmed That The Printing Of Ballot Papers For The 2026 General Election In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Is Nearing Completion, With Packaging And Dispatch Now Underway.
Providing An Update From The Printing Facility, ECZ Commissioner Ambassador Ndiyoi Mutiti Said The Process Has Proceeded Smoothly Under The Close Observation Of Political Parties, Civil Society, The Church, Security Agencies, And The Media
Ambassador Mutiti, Disclosed That All Categories Of Ballot Papers, Amounting To A Total Of 35,000,800 Have Been Printed.
This Includes 9.1 Million Presidential Ballots, 8,399,850 Ballots For 1,672 Wards, 8,628,350 Ballots For 110 Districts Covering Mayoral And Council Chairperson Elections, And 8,854,300 Ballots For 217 Constituencies In The National Assembly Elections.
She Explained That Ballot Papers For 217 Constituencies Have Been Printed, While Eight Unopposed Constituencies And Lumezi North, Where A Candidate Passed Away, Will Not Have Ballots.
The First Consignment Is Scheduled To Depart Dubai On July 26, 2026, Arriving The Same Day At Kenneth Kaunda International Airport In Lusaka, Where Stakeholders Will Witness The Delivery And Verification Process.
Ambassador Mutiti Emphasized That The Commission Remains Committed To Inclusivity And Transparency, Noting That The Departure Date For Stakeholders Observing The Printing Process Has Been Rescheduled To July 31, 2026 To Allow Them To Witness The Dispatch Of The Final Batch Of Ballot Papers.
She Thanked Stakeholders For Their Continued Partnership And Rigorous Monitoring, Reaffirming That The Ecz’s Mandate Is To Conduct Free, Fair, And Credible Elections.
