KINGS KANGWA MAKES HISTORY IN ISRAEL
Chipolopolo midfielder Kings Kangwa has officially been crowned Israeli Premier League Champion with Hapoel Beer Sheva after helping the club secure its 6th league title and first championship in eight years.
To crown an outstanding campaign, Kangwa has also been named the Israeli League Best Player of the Season after a dominant year in which he led from midfield with goals, assists and consistency throughout the season.
The title means Hapoel Beer Sheva will compete in next season’s UEFA Champions League qualifiers, adding another major milestone to Kangwa’s growing European career.
The Zambian international now has an opportunity to complete a historic domestic double when Beer Sheva faces Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Cup Final on Tuesday. Victory would mark the first ever league and cup double in the club’s history.
Kangwa’s success continues to elevate the Zambian flag internationally and places him among a special group of Zambian footballers to have conquered abroad.
Notably, Kings Kangwa becomes only the second Zambian player to win the Israeli league title after William Njobvu achieved the feat with Kiryat Shmona in 2012.
From being named Best Foreign Player in Israel last season to now becoming the overall Best Player in the league, Kings Kangwa continues to show remarkable growth, maturity and winning mentality at the highest level.
