ZISC NEW BOARD UNVEILED
The Industrial Development Corporation Limited (IDC) Chief Executive Officer Cornwell Muleya has announced and unveiled the new Board of Directors for the Zambia State Insurance Corporation (ZSIC).
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Muleya said the appointment of the (ZSIC) board is the first step in implementing the IDC governance and operational reforms strategy.
Mr Muleya said the strategies are aimed at strengthening the operations of (ZSIC) General Insurance and all group companies.
He explained that the indication is an integral part of ZSIC structured change programme aimed at ensuring the board is well versed with among other things the company’s business strategy objectives and policies.
“Through your leadership, we believe the company will attain the vision and mission of being market leaders in the provision of world class general services in Zambia and please be mindful of the nature of the insurance sector which is highly specialized and regulated,” Mr Muleya said.
Meanwhile, ZSIC General Insurance Board Chairperson David Matongo pledged its commitment to assisting ZSIC achieve its aspiration as laid down in the Company’s Strategic Business Plan.
Mr Matongo who paid tribute to the immediate past board for their leadership, said they will surely pick up from where they left.
He stated that ZSIC is the oldest insurance company in the market and has experienced various challenges at the same time it has also undergone transformation over the years.
Mr Matongo noted that the fact it is still in existence and going strong is a testimony of the company’s resilient character.
