ZESCO URGES COURT TO DISMISS LAWSUIT ON LOAD-SHEDDING
ZESCO Limited has urged the Lusaka High Court to dismiss the “frivolous” lawsuit filed against it by politician Chanoda Ngwira, who is aggrieved over prolonged load-shedding.
The power utility has submitted that the petition should be thrown out because it is an abuse of the court process.
It has submitted that the lawsuit should not be entertained because the company is not the root cause of power blackouts.
“Zesco will say that the load-shedding that the country is facing is due to drought, force majeure, and not the fault of Zesco,” the document reads.
