ZAWAPA PRESIDENT CRITICIZES UPND GOVERNMENT OVER ELECTIONS DELAY THREAT

ZAWAPA PRESIDENT CRITICIZES UPND GOVERNMENT OVER ELECTIONS DELAY THREAT.

Zawapa – Zambia wake-up Party  president, Howard Kunda, says it is not possible for the president to continue in office for as long as eight years without holding general elections due to the lacunas in the Constitution of Zambia.

Mr. Kunda stated that he is very shocked by President Hakainde Hichilema’s statement, who recently announced that the country risks not having elections if the current lacunas are not amended.

Speaking in a live interview with MAFKEN RADIO today, Mr. Kunda wondered why President Hichilema claimed to have issues that could lead to the postponement of elections when it is the same constitution that was used to ascend him to power.

The former lawmaker has since advised the president and his government to seek right legal counsel, as opposed to interpreting the law, which he may not understand.

He adds that the UPND government is busy panicking to find ways to hold on to power despite failing to fulfill their campaign promises.

Mr. Kunda notes that Zambians are therefore resolved to removing the UPND from government come 2026 general elections.
