Zambian caregiver in Oman convicted, jailed after being caught filming boss-hubby having sex
A ZAMBIAN caregiver TV Yatu recently reported to have been arrested for filming her employer and her husband during a private intimate moment has reportedly been convicted and sentenced to two years in prison in Oman.
Details of the matter suggest that the 25-year-old caregiver filmed the couple after allegedly noticing that the bedroom door had been left open.
However, while recording the couple, the caregiver reportedly did not realise that their son was watching her.
The child is said to have later informed his parents, who subsequently reported the matter to Police.
Sources in Oman claim that some couples in the country may be less concerned about privacy within their homes, with some reportedly engaging in intimate activities in common areas or leaving bedroom doors open.
The sources believe this may have contributed to the caregiver’s decision to record the incident.
According to the source, earlier reports had indicated that the Zambian Government was exploring ways of securing the caregiver’s release, with the possibility that she could face disciplinary action in Zambia instead.
However, sources now say the caregiver has been convicted and jailed for two years.
The sources further claim that foreigners serving prison sentences in Oman can face difficult conditions, describing the treatment as harsh and calling on authorities to explore what legal or diplomatic measures may be available to assist the Zambian national.
The caregiver’s reported conviction and imprisonment have raised concerns among caregivers in that Country.
