ZAMBIA POLICE SERVICE REFUTES REPORTS OF SEARCH FOR FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU

The Zambia Police Service has refuted reports that officers have been searching for former President Edgar Lungu at the farms of Dr. Martin Mtonga and Munir Zulu in Lundazi and Lumezi, respectively.

They have also dismissed assertions that police sealed off Kanele and other places in Lundazi in search of Lungu.

Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, stated that the reports are fabricated to mislead the nation, emphasizing that at no point have officers been dispatched on the alleged activity.

Hamoonga confirmed that Lungu is currently in Lusaka and the Zambia Police Service is fully aware of his whereabouts.

He appealed to the public to refrain from spreading falsehoods.

Lungu was featured in an interview broadcasted on Kanele FM in Lundazi.
