You’ll be haunted if you don’t vote the ruling UPND — Wynter
ECONOMIC Front leader Wynter Kabimba says those who will not vote for President Hakainde Hichilema on August 13 will be wasting their time.
Speaking on Mafken Radio’s live programme this afternoon, Kabimba said those who choose not to vote for the ruling UPND will be “haunted” by their decision.
Kabimba claims the opposition National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) is not ready to govern the country, arguing that there is no serious message coming from the opposition.
He says winning elections may be easy, but running a country is an entirely different matter.
“Running a country is a serious business. I’m saying this from experience.
“When PF won the elections in 2011, it became difficult to run the country. So it’s not easy, though it sounds easy. It’s like spectators watching football; it might seem easy to point out mistakes, but being in the match is a different story,” he said.
Kabimba says he is not suggesting that the opposition cannot govern, but believes the current composition of its teams could make it difficult for them to run the country.
“I am not saying they cannot do it, but looking at their team, it can be difficult. And I’m not saying this out of malice,” he said.
According to Kabimba, the Patriotic Front’s political record is not one that anyone should be proud of.
He said he was making the assessment as a UPND observer.
