…and Kasonde and Siame were assaulted by UPND Cadres…
December 11, 2023-Riverside police Station today at 10:00 hours received information that Mr. Mwenda Kasonde the President of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Party was having an illegal meeting at Chisela Guest House in Kitwe.
Brief facts are that police received information that the president of the EFF and his Entourage were having a Press Conference. Police visited the scene where the found Mr. Mwenda kasonde the president of EFF , Mr. Siame Changala secretary general , Mr. Francis Sampa the Copperbelt chairperson and Six journalists.
Then they were asked if they had notified the police of which they stated that they didn’t and apologized for the oversight.
All were advised to accompany the police to the station where they were warned and advised to stop any further illegal meetings of which they acknowledged positively and were let to go. Police have instituted investigations into the matter.
Later on their way they were blocked by people who apprehended them and brought them back to Riverside police station where they were released since there was no report of any alleged matter.
As regards to the theft of the Laptop for the Mr. Kasonde Mwenda and the car keys, the laptop was found in the vehicle he was using and the Car Key were brought by a Taxi driver to Riverside and handed over at the station.
The reports we have as at now are for assaults involving Mr. Kasonde and Mr. Changala which we have launched a man hunt for the suspects believed to be in Chingola. The complainants have since been issued with medical forms.
