Wife Charged with Murder after killing Husband’s Girlfriend, Committed to High Court
The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has committed a 44-year- old woman to the High Court for plea in a matter in which she is charged with murder.
Ruth Mwanza, a resident of Twinpalm area is believed to have assaulted Maureen Mweemba, aged 29 in January 2026.
On the material day, Ms. Mwanza left her residence around 17:00 hours with her two children and returned around 22:00 hours, only to find her house locked.
After forcing the door open, she allegedly found her husband in the company of the now-deceased, Mweemba inside their matrimonial home.
The suspect allegedly forcibly dragged the victim outside the house and brutally attacked her.
It is alleged that the accused on unknown dates but between January 29 and 31, 2026 in Lusaka, murdered Ms. Mweemba.
