Before 2021, President HH then in opposition had series of meetings with Mr. Sinyinda to convince the Barotseland Activists to support him and win elections..
Mr. Sinyinda several times he refused citing his love for Barotseland. The trips HH made trying to convince Clement Sinyinda were 167 trips.
President HH frequented his house whenever is in Western province, Barotseland. HH finished his airtime to call Sinyinda and continued requesting from him to convince Barotseland Activists to support him. In 2021, HH knelt down before Sinyinda asking him for his favor. He asked him to wait a but and stop talking about Barotseland which can make him lose elections. HH told Sinyinda that he will handle Barotseland issue because is part of Barotseland.
HH said Barotseland is a country and that he will give it semi authority.
He also said if he will not win , he will come and stay in Barotseland.
Sinyinda called all Barotse Imilemas and advised them to keep quite and give chance to UPND and HH win elections first. Sinyinda convinced all the districts and many Barotseland Activists joined UPND.
HH said once he wins, Barotseland matter will be soughted out as of yesterday.
When he won, HH instead appointed Sinyinda Service teaching commission.
Sinyinda waited for HH to handle the Barotseland issue. Next, as he was sitting at his office enjoying air-condition, checking on Facebook, Sinyinda reads and watches HH saying Barotseland does not exist at all. Sinyinda resigns and returns home.
