We started free education — Brian Mundubile!
NRPUP Presidential candidate Brian Mundubile says free education started with the Patriotic Front-PF who reduced fees by K1,800.
Mundubile who is former leader of the opposition in Parliament says the previous government introduced free education by drastically reducing school fees, arguing that the current administration only eliminated the remaining K200.
Speaking at a public rally in Mpulungu, Mundubile said the previous administration reduced school fees from K2,000 to K200, describing the reduction as the foundation of Zambia’s free education policy.
“We introduced free education. We found it at K2,000; reduced it to K200. We reduced it by K1,800. Our friends brag that they introduced free education when all they have done is remove the remainder K200,” says Mundubile
He maintained that the previous government should be credited for initiating the policy, while accusing the current administration of taking credit for work that had already begun.
“We removed K1,800, they removed K200. We will continue with the free education we started,” Mundubile says
Mundubile’s remarks come amid continued political debate over which administration should be credited with the introduction of free education in Zambia.
