UPND’S HYPOCRISY: ABANDONING AUSTERITY MEASURES AND CLAIMING CREDIT FOR THEM

We, the Concerned Civil Servants, are outraged by the UPND government’s brazen deception. They abandoned the austerity measures put in place between 2019 and 2020, only to now claim credit for reintroducing them. This is a blatant lie and a slap in the face to the Zambian people.

The previous administration implemented measures to reduce unnecessary expenditures, including halting international trips, restricting travel for top officials, and reducing salaries for high-scale officials. The UPND government recklessly abandoned these measures upon taking office, only to now pretend they are the ones introducing them.

We condemn this hypocrisy and demand truthfulness from our leaders. The UPND’s attempt to deceive the public will not go unnoticed. We will continue to hold them accountable for their actions.
