UPND SUMMONS KANYAMA UCZ REVEREND FOR INVITING FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU

The United Party for National Development (UPND) has threatened to close St. Philips Congregation of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) in Kanyama because of what it claims of engaging in politics.

The UCZ St. Philips Congregation under St. Paul’s Consistory was on Sunday, 19th May 2024, hosting an official opening of the built Church and invited Zambia’s Sixth President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

However the UPND in Kanyama and UPND Deputy National Youth Chairperson, Trevor Mwiinde organised UPND thugs to waylay and attack the former President.

The former President Lungu was alerted about the ambush and abandoned the trip into Kanyama.

And Secretary in Charge of Youths in Kanyama, Shadreck Sinkala has summoned the UCZ Church leadership for an urgent meeting with a view of getting an explanation.
