OPINION: UPND BUILDING A MONISTER TO COME AND EAT THEM

All the UPND parliamentary primary elections results are loud and clear showing that those who have been in office as MPs in the upnd government from 2021 have been rejected by their own people. Disregard for now the Presidential UPND primaries where Mr Hikainde went an opposed.
I am not a political scientist neither am i a political analyst. However, one thing is absolutely clear. Something has to change. The office bearers, the party itself, the behavior of the leaders etc. I leave it to the party itself to figure out what is going to change in August 2026. UPND believes that what its members dont want are MPs but they love Mr HH. I thought governance was done as a team and not a solo activity.
For some strange reason, the Republican president and his team are convinced that by blocking the perceived strong opposition candidates then their would be voters that were seen during the 2026 women’s day and Youth day will automatically shift allegiance and vote for upnd.
Whoever is the political strategist in the upnd must be constantly on opium or cocaine.
The upnd can’t see that by eliminating their most feared opponents from the former ruling party, they are instead creating a monster for themselves. For some reason again, UPND has ignored Fred Membe, KBF and Harry Kalaba.
My brothers and sisters in the UPND, out of the opposition Presidential candidates, the most vicious and killer candidates are these 3. KBF, Fred & Harry.
If you were thinking of peace and your safety just in case and just in case you lost in August 2026, Mundubile or Makebi were going to be the better devils and easier to negotiate peace with when you loose in August than the 3 musketeers.
But shockingly, all leaders in UPND dont seem to be seeing the political environment clearly.
UPND are building monsters to come and eat them alive in Membe, KBF and KaLaba.
Allowing a lot of opposition Presidential candidates each one fighting individually for the presidency would have diluted the opposition strength and given you a bit of chance to win.
You have intentionally or unknowingly or carelessly created a very serious, vicious, uncompromising strong and annoyed opposition which was not there 3 months ago.
When you drop your so-called threats from the ballot believe me they will in their annoyed state regroup around one candidate and eliminate you without a doubt.
227 constituencies are not a joke to visit campaign or manage and have control over the selection of candidates you prefer in those constituencies.
To go to 227 constituencies one constituency a day, you need 7 and half months. Simply divide 227 by 30 = 7.56. If you go to 2 per day which is practically impossible, you can only go to 180 constituencies remember we dont have 90 days (3 months) in this election. Today is already the 17th of May 2026.
You should have probably done delimitation in your second term unfortunately it is very clear that you are done.
Every political party in power struggles to win their first Term. MMD, PF… check the winning numbers.
UPND is the first party in Zambia to ever face a 50+1 in their first term. The first term is always difficult with or without 60+1 because of the obvious campaign promises by the end of the first term.
But the unfulfilled promises in the case of UPND plus many crazy and weird UPND government policies, laws plus many atrocities such as tribalism, Nepotism corruption etc make it so difficult for UPND to retain power in August.
Forget about UPND rigging elections. it won’t work and it doesn’t work.
We all know that part of the reason to enact the public gathering Act is to block voters from gathering at poling stations after voting to stop ballot boxes swapping a technique used by UPND in 2021 as a vote protection idea and it worked. Today it has been criminalized.
To Mr Fred Membe and elder brother KBF, we all know you know some of the party advantages you have over your friends from the late PF party, Mundubile and Makebi.
However, KBF and Fred please stop mocking your fellow opposition Presidential candidates. Be like Harry.
If you know something about Mundubile or Makebi please be good and keep it to yourselves. Dont destroy yourselves last minute. Destroying or exposing Mundubile’s weaknesses won’t make you any stronger.
We all as human beings have our dark secrets, our weaknesses including yourselves Fred and Kelvin.
Being in power before doesn’t exempt you from coming back as a better person having learnt your lessons the case of Mundubile and Makebi. Please sober up.
No sane Zambian wants to see any division of the opposition. All Zambians want HH gone. DON’T Loose the opportunity you have so easily like you are not in Zambia. Stop praising their union/alliance.. keep quiet … think before you utter any words.
Laura Miti my sister, thanks for your contributions trying to criticize the UPND government. However, for now just stop doing it. You are compromised. Your stint in court and in jail with Pilato during the PF era compromised you and you became a UPND sympathizer. Everything from you for now no matter how good is sounding extremely. Just Stop it for our sanity. We understand your relationship Laura Miti and your history with the current Zambian opposition architecture.
We also understand Mr Kabimba who was a victim of the PF caderism resulting in his unceremonious PF exit consequently making him so bitter today against his former party and emerging new Leaders.
He doesn’t know whether he is in the ruling party or the opposition or just a social political commentator.
