In a dramatic turn of events, the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court took a proactive approach in the ongoing trial of John Nundwe, also known as Bishop John General. Yesterday, Magistrate Amy Chilangwa-Masoja led a court inspection of the alleged crime scene, including the bedroom where the victim, Jessy, claims to have been assaulted.

The inspection also extended to the fence at the victim’s home, from which Bishop John General allegedly jumped while naked after the incident. This move by the court aims to gather more evidence and gain a better understanding of the events surrounding the alleged assault.

Bishop John General, the 52-year-old overseer of Miracle Impact Ministries International, has pleaded not guilty to the charge. The alleged incident occurred on November 22, last year, and the trial is ongoing.

As the trial progresses, the court has heard testimony from the first witness, Mr. Chisha, a headman from Kahare village in Lusaka’s Balastone area. The prosecution’s case relies heavily on the evidence presented, and the court’s inspection of the crime scene is a crucial step in determining the outcome of the trial.
