More information has surfaced indicating that what happened at Heroes Stadium on Sunday was highly planned move meant to cause a stampede and total chaos with the hope that the Zambian soccer venues could have been sanctioned and banned by FIFA/CAF and have matches played outside the Zambia.
According to the youths being interviewed by law enforcement agencies, the Emmanuel Mwamba planned chaos was not only meant to embarrass the Head of State President Hakainde Hichilema, but was meant to ensure the Zambian soccer venues were banned because they know how Zambians like soccer.
“The actual plan was to cause confusion so that there would be a counter reaction from UPND members. It was then hoped that with the confusion, the police would throw in a teargas canisters and that would have caused commotion and total chaos in the stadium. Then government would have been blamed and possibly face sanctions from FIFA/CAF. It was meant to be a big thing. Actually the initial number that was hired were more than 200 but only about 30 came into the stadium”, sources close to the investigations have revealed.
The investigation has so far centred on the youths who were left stranded plus the video footage from the stadium. So far Emmanuel Mwamba has been singled out in the investigation but there could be more in the planning.
