STATEHOUSE CAN BE REGARDED AS A WORKPLACE RATHER THAN A PLACE OF RESIDENCE – HAMASAKA
State House Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka says State House should primarily be regarded as the official workplace of the President rather than a place of residence.
His remarks come in response to comments by Tonse Pamodzi Alliance presidential candidate Brian Mundubile, who recently said that if elected, he would relocate to State House.
In an interview, Mr. Hamasaka said President Hakainde Hichilema spends his official working hours at State House carrying out his constitutional duties, adding that where the President spends his nights should not be a matter of public debate.
He said the focus should instead be on the President’s performance and the services being delivered to the people, rather than on where he resides.m
Mr. Hamasaka has maintained that a President’s effectiveness should be measured by leadership and performance in office, not by whether they live at State House.
