SHIKOSWE CLINIC TO EXTEND OPERATIONAL HOURS

Kafue District Director of Health Dr Sydney Hamusonde has disclosed that Shikoswe Clinic will soon begin operating on 24hr basis.

Dr Hamusonde said this when Kafue Member of Parliament Mirriam Chonya visited the Cholera Treatment Centre in Shikoswe. The MP, who was accompanied by the District Commissioner Mr Maurice Hikapulwe and other personnel wanted to know what challenges were preventing the clinic from operating on 24hrs basis.

Dr Sydney Hamusonde assured the team that following the recruitment of health personnel recently, the facility would start operating on 24hrs basis within the first quarter of 2024.

He further informed the visiting team that the Soloboni Clinic would soon be commissioned and also operate on 24 hr basis.

The two clinics were constructed by Lee Yeast company, through its corporate social responsibility programme.

Meanwhile, area Member of Parliament Hon Miriam Chonya has commended staff for doing their best to contain the Cholera situation. At the time of the visit, two patients were admitted to the centre.
