SAME OLD SPEECH, NOTHING NEW, MILES SAMPA PUNCHES HOLES IN HICHILEMA’S SPEECH
SAME. OLD SPEECH, NOTHING NEW, SAMPA PUNCHES HOLES IN HICHILEMA’S SPEECH
A. Pluses of the Speech by Mr President HH
1) MPs to go back to be part of Councils. Only way to make the CDF functional as currently MPs are just passengers in a a fund set for their prople and answerable to them. To the extent there is no hidden agenda, indeed the constitution needs closing up many lacunas.
2) Development to be pushed equally for constituencies held by non UPND MPs
B. Minuses or Untrue
1) That Freedom of media enhanced when Boba TV was harassed, warned & cautioned for reporting on corruption.
2) Not enough hope was given to citizens on ending the current 21 hours of load shedding.
3) No mention or apology on afrotoxin poisoned mealie meal citizens were subjected to recently.
4) No mention of immediate mitigating measures for the hardship citizens are enduring due to the high cost of living.
5) No firm talk on the fight against Corruption especially after having recently dissolved the ACC Board.
6) No mention on security concerns in our communities especially as regards abdutions and junckies in urban areas like Matero, Kanyama, CBD etc terrorizing citizens in broad day light grabbing handbags and beating some for coins.
C. Conclusion
Sounded like we have heard the speech before not once many many times. One that keeps jabbing and jabbing without a hook or uppercut hard punch or punches. Missed opportunity to-reunite the polarized Nation in many fronts and give renewed hope to suffering masses due to load shedding and high cost of living. Do Zambian have renewed hope after the speech?
After listening we all back to the new miserable BAU (business as usual) of uncharged phones and food rotting in freezers of many.
I will therefore grade the speech 4 out of 10.
Meanwhile many thanks to the Speaker for moving me from group 1 (opposition front caged bench for praising & worshiping louder than UPND MPs) to group 3 (in the back that is free to oppose & speak for the masses). I must be topping the list on the most moved MP between group 1 and 3 benches of the House
We look to the next Speech and remain hopefuly given the one today was a loadsheded one.
Miles Bwalya Sampa, MP
President: Patriotic Front (PF)
