SABOI IMBOELA DISCHARGED FROM CUSTODY
National Democratic Congress -NDC- Leader SABOI IMBOELA has been discharged from custody following the LUSAKA Magistrate’s decision to lift the bench warrant issued against her on August 6, 2024.
Lusaka Principal Magistrate, SILVIA MUNYINYA was however at pains to grant Ms. IMBOELA’s application for the discharge of the bench warrant, because the accused did not give reasons for absconding court.
Magistrate MUNYINYA also disputed Ms. IMBOELA’s submissions that she absconded court sittings for the first time.
She ordered her to introspect on the dangers of missing the court’s sessions.
Magistrate MUNYINYA has however extended Ms. IMBOELA’s police bond and adjourned the matter to September 10, 2024 for continuation of defence in the matter.
This is in a matter where Ms. IMBOELA is charged with libel after being sued by State House Chief Communications Specialist CLAYSON HAMASAKA.
It is alleged that on September 9, 2022, Ms. IMBOELA, Acting with unknown persons, intentionally defamed Mr. HAMASAKA on her face book page.
