RESOLUTE PARTY WILL NOT PETITION 2026 ELECTION RESULTS

The Resolute Party has announced that it will not petition the outcome of the 2026 general election, saying it will instead focus on providing checks and balances to the UPND government.

Speaking at a media briefing today, Resolute Party President Martin Phiri said the party, which is only nine months old, has performed exceptionally well, producing at least 20 elected leaders at parliamentary, mayoral and council levels.

The Resolute Party was part of the Tonse Alliance and sponsored its president, Makebi Zulu, as running mate to Tonse presidential candidate Brian Mundubile.

The announcement comes a day after Emmanuel Mwamba disclosed that Brian Mundubile intends to petition the 2026 election results, arguing that the alleged electoral “theft” was too significant to ignore.
