Kenya president Ruto forced to follow the will of the people – backs down after protests
This is a classical case of Parliament voting on party and wip line instead of representing the views of their electorates and constituencies.
Ruto now faces the prospect of being forced to resign as the protests have led to loss of lives, destruction of property and infrastructure.
Word on the streets is that the protests were against the finance bill which is believed to be an IMF or western world backed and authored document, but does not take local considerations.
