PRESIDENT HICHILEMA URGES KABOMPO VOTERS TO BACK UPND CANDIDATES

President Hakainde Hichilema has called on voters in Kabompo District to support all UPND candidates in the forthcoming elections, saying a united vote was necessary to protect the country’s development gains.

Addressing a campaign rally during his tour of North-Western Province, President Hichilema thanked residents for the large turnout and warm reception, describing the rally as successful.

He urged voters to reject independent candidates, arguing that doing so would divide the vote and weaken the party’s mandate.

“Vote for all UPND candidates, and the President. Every vote counts,” President Hichilema said.

The Head of State said the country’s free education policy remained one of the government’s greatest achievements and should be safeguarded for future generations.

He added that the recruitment of teachers, nurses, police officers, correctional service officers and members of the defence forces had created opportunities for thousands of Zambians.

“Free education is the greatest investment we can make, the great equaliser and the finest inheritance we can leave to our children,” he said.

President Hichilema acknowledged that more work remained to be done but expressed confidence that a renewed mandate would enable his administration to continue implementing development programmes.

He also encouraged supporters to mobilise voters within their communities ahead of polling day.

“Together, let us protect our achievements and keep Zambia moving forward in peace, unity and prosperity,” President Hichilema said.
