PRESIDENT HICHILEMA AWARDED HONORARY DOCTORATE BY UNIVERSITY OF ZAMBIA

President Hakainde Hichilema has been honored with an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration by the University of Zambia (UNZA) in recognition of his distinguished and outstanding contributions to humanity and business administration, both in Zambia and beyond.

In his acceptance speech, President Hichilema expressed deep gratitude to the university’s management for the rare recognition. He dedicated the honorary doctorate to all students across the country, emphasizing his commitment to inclusive development and entrepreneurship.

During the ceremony, President Hichilema also announced a directive to complete all unfinished hostels at the University of Zambia. Acknowledging the accommodation and sanitation challenges faced by students, he assured the institution that the government is committed to resolving these issues. Additionally, the President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with university management to address longstanding challenges at the institution.

UNZA Vice Chancellor, Professor Mundia Muya, highlighted President Hichilema’s exceptional achievements in business, corporate, and national administration as reasons for conferring the honorary doctorate. Professor Muya praised the President for his significant contributions to humanity and business, which have had a far-reaching impact.

Meanwhile, University of Zambia Students Union (UNZASU) President Vincent Musilikani expressed gratitude on behalf of the student body for government’s policies aimed at improving the education system in Zambia.
