PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA TO VISIT CENTRAL PROVINCE FOR ONE-DAY WORKING VISIT-MKUSHI

President Hakainde Hichilema, President of Zambia, has announced his upcoming visit to Central Province on the 19th of March, 2024. During his visit, President Hichilema will be in Mkushi district for a one-day working visit, focusing on agricultural developments in the region.

The President’s schedule includes a visit to two farms in Mkushi. Starting with Sadot farm within the Mkushi farming block, President Hichilema will launch the harvest of the early maize crop.

Following the launch, President Hichilema plans to engage with the people of Mkushi and various agricultural groups to gain insight into the accomplishments and future plans of the local farmers. This interaction will further enhance his understanding of the farming community and their initiatives for the replanting of winter maize.

Mkushi, a vital agricultural region in Central Province, holds immense importance in Zambia’s wheat production. With over 60% of the entire country’s wheat production originating from Central Province, the successes and challenges faced by the farmers in Mkushi greatly impact the nation’s agricultural sector.

In light of this visit, the people of Mkushi are cordially invited to partake in the interactions with President Hakainde Hichilema at Sadot farm. This unique opportunity to engage with the President provides an avenue for fruitful discussions regarding the agricultural landscape of Mkushi and the aspirations of its farmers.

This is according to information availed to journalists in a press briefing today by Central Province Permanent Secretary Milner Dr. Milner Mwanakampwe.
